To conclude a year marked by memorable milestone celebrations, including our summer Spirit Week and other 75th Anniversary get-togethers, we ended the year with one final week of festivities! We welcomed all of our colleagues from around the US and Puerto Rico to DC in early December to participate in the celebration. We were also honored to have Emiliana Caldarelli, our Italy and Spain Director of over two decades, join us from Florence!

The Year in Review 2025
What a year! Our work really spanned the globe this year— we witnessed the migration of butterflies in Mexico, explored brain health in the “Blue Zone” of Sardinia, walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain, and explored the culinary heritage of Ghana! For each experience, we sought to transform travelers’ lives through well-crafted experiences and meaningful cross-cultural exchanges.

Last month, our team had the pleasure of visiting Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens for a staff field trip. We were treated to a private tour of the special exhibition “Setting Sail: The Story of Sea Cloud ” by the museum’s curator, Thomas Wu. The tour was particularly meaningful given that ATA chartered Sea Cloud for two voyages in 1992.

This year marks the company’s celebrates its 75th anniversary, reflecting on its evolution from faculty-led trips to a leader in study abroad programs. In 2024, ATA made strides in promoting Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI), achieving 82.5% of its goals, and launched new travel programs, including a Mediterranean eclipse cruise, a wine-focused travel experience, and culinary journeys in Jordan.
