Elena is a global Human Resources strategist with specialized expertise in business and academic immigration, global workforce development, as well as global diversity, equity, and inclusion. She joined ATA after serving as a business consultant in various industries and previously serving as a director at The Brookings Institution.
Her passion for travel and cross-cultural collaboration started when studying abroad in Mexico while at Loyola University New Orleans (BA). She continued studying Latin American politics and international business at George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs (MA). Elena possesses certifications as a Global Mobility Specialist – Talent Management (GMS-T), a Global Professional in HR (GPHR), and as a Society for HR Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). She speaks frequently on topics related to innovative workforce strategies and inclusive leadership.
A native of Alabama, Elena is a self-proclaimed foodie who enjoys serving and connecting with her community. In her spare time, you will find her watching superhero movies and engaging in intense comic book debates.
