2024 Year in Review

As we reflect on our accomplishments over the past year, we give thanks to our dedicated staff and meaningful partnerships that allow us to bring educational travel experiences to life every day. Read more about our 2024 milestones and what we have planned for the future here. We look forward to what the new year holds!

Celebrating Chef Eric Adjepong

On November 14, at Danish Ambassador Jesper Sorensen’s elegant residence, many of us in international education and educational travel gathered to celebrate the power of immersing oneself in another culture at the Fund for Education Abroad’s annual gala. This year, our honoree was one of ATA’s treasured partners and culinary star, Chef Eric Adjepong, who received the Fritz Kaufmann Award, an honor that memorializes our founder. Eric’s persona exemplifies the open mind, open heart, and soulful approach to celebrating cultures and connecting people across borders. He embodies the values of giving back and inspiring future generations, as evidenced by the sparkling eyes of many FEA scholars who met Eric that night.

Chef Eric, with a degree in Public Health, wears many hats: Ambassador for Save the Children, host for multiple Food Network shows, creator of a Crate & Barrel kitchen collection; author of a children’s book, Sankofa, and cookbook, Ghana to the World, releasing in March of 2025; and soon owner of a DC-based modern Ghanaian restaurant, Elmina .

We are delighted to have partnered with Chef Eric to craft a curated trip to his ancestral land, Savoring Ghana, departing August 2025. Check out the details here!

Consider A Solar Eclipse Trip

The two most recent total eclipses in the US (2017 and 2024) have reignited eclipse chasers. Last year, our guests in the Texas Hill Country experienced it all: the sharp drop in temperature beforehand; the sudden hush of birds and animals; and finally, the breathtaking beauty of seeing the sun’s bright corona for a few brief moments. 2026 and 2027 offer great opportunities to consider eclipse trips in Iceland, Spain, and Egypt. Read on to learn about what we have planned!
